With the economy being what is I am sure that many people have had to start pinching pennies. With my husband laid off from his job, I have challenged myself to create the $7 meal. This recipe fits that challenge perfectly since pork steak is a very cheap cut of pork.
You will need:
3 large pork steaks
1 can of tomato sauce
1 teaspoon of oregano
8 oz. mozzarella cheese
salt, pepper and garlic powder
Season pork with salt, pepper and garlic powder. In a large skillet add 1 tablespoon of olive oil over med. high heat.
Add pork steaks and cook about 3 minutes per side until browned. Add tomato sauce and oregano. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Add mozzarella cheese to top and cover for 5 minutes or until cheese melts.
